Associate Experience Director

At my current job with The Blitz Agency, I am responsible for helping craft user-focused digital experiences with any tool available: sculpey, cardboard, kitchen utensils- whatever’s on hand. Divining the needs of users requires self-less acts of white-boarding, improvisational story telling and questioning strangers about their motivations. All these activities are aimed at understanding how a digital tool’s interface and content deeply influence what people feel about a brand’s products or services.

I have been working with great people and companies for the last 20 years in the field of communications- from Ogilvy & Mather to Razorfish. I began dabbling with web pages in 1994 when I co-wrote, designed and coded Central America’s first web-zine. I have been smitten with design and technology ever since.

On a personal level, I have a full plate. I seem to like it that way. With three kids who span two generations, one wife from my generation and three dogs from an unknown generation (do dog years come in such increments?), there is never NOT something to do. I have traveled to six of the world’s seven continents; dined with kings and queens; slept in dung-huts; tasted fear in the chill air of ancient mine shafts and fled the heavy footfall of charging elephants. I was raised in both the Rocky Mountains and on the Atlantic Ocean.

I'm looking forward to more great things starting... well... now!

If the success or failure of this planet, and of human beings, depended on how I am and what I do; how would I be? What would I do? - Buckminster Fuller

In our leisure we reveal what kind of people we are. - Ovid (a Toga-wearing Roman dude)

"It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out of your door," he used to say. "You step into the Road, and if you don't keep your feet, there is no knowing where you might be swept off to."
